Tech Debt is “The tradeoff between the short-term benefit of rapid delivery and long-term value”, according to Carnegie Mellon University. As a developer, the pressure to “cut corners” is ever-present.
As with money, Tech Debt can accumulate and generate interest. It’s the consequence of poor software development decisions, a lack of knowledge, or the result of prioritising speed to release over well-designed applications. Are these all the reasons for Tech Debt? How can we prevent, manage, reduce, and avoid Tech Debt? Who is responsible for Tech Debt? How can you balance speed v’s quality when the customer only wants speed?
Come along and discuss these challenges at the table with the wider OutSystems Community. Bring your questions and stories to share.
There will be a Kahoot game and prizes!
We hope to see you there.
