Application migration is a complex and often challenging task, even when guidelines and toolkits are available. While the theoretical aspects may seem straightforward, the practical application of these concepts can be significantly more difficult.

While OutSystems provides robust documentation and an evolving toolkit to assist with migrating applications from OutSystems 11 (O11) to OutSystems Developer Cloud (ODC), real-world implementation often presents unforeseen challenges. Moving an application to the cloud involves far more than simply following guidelines; it requires careful planning, in-depth technical knowledge, and the ability to adapt to complex issues.

During the session we will look at OutSystems guidelines and try to apply them on a real word application. The session would cover:

Overview of the Application: A brief description of the application being migrated. We will also understand how this migration work was justified to the customer specially the business team.

Migration Approach: We will briefly talk about the different migration options we explored, and which one we chose and share the reasons for the decision we finally made.

Challenges Faced: Describe the hurdles encountered during migration—such as issues with third-party integrations, absense of reusables components, or the complexity of refactoring the applications to ensure least impact on end users.

Solutions and Results: Share how these challenges were addressed, including the tools and methodologies used.
