About this event
We're excited to kick things off together at the Veldsink Groep office in Nuenen, who have kindly offered to host us for this debut session.
After a short introduction of our host, we'll hand it over to Ralph Oostheim from Transfer Solutions who will explain us more about the importance of indexes and what OutSystems doesn't tell you about them. Drawing on over 25 years of experience as a database expert, Ralph will explain how execution plans work and how the right indexes can make your applications run faster and more efficiently. Interested to hear what that's all about? Great!
We'll provide plenty of pizzas, drinks and good conversation. All you need to bring is your curiosity and community spirit :-)
Let's make this the start of something great for Brabant's OutSystems community. See you there!
Please arrive before 6:00PM. The doors close afterwards.

OutSystems offers a wealth of online training materials to help you get started developing applications. The courses cover creating entities, basic data modeling, writing aggregates and SQL queries, but does hardly cover the impact of database indexes on application performance.
As a former database developer with more than 25 years of experience, I see a lot of applications that could perform a lot better if more OutSystems developers were aware of how queries are handled on the database level.
This presentation addresses how a database creates an execution plan for a query and how you can determine which indexes are needed to build and maintain a high-performance application.
